Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter for WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a morning-news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. Her articles from Charleston on how Charleston police acted in DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict directive for state authorities. The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. After her time in Charleston O'Dell served as anchor and investigative reporter at the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to her move to Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor and a weekday reporter.
